The scheduling, talking hubby into it, having nightmares that the kids will fake "cheese" smiles (or worse - have a full blown meltdown), and that it'll just be a waste of money. Plus you still have that extra 10 pounds you've been meaning to lose, so you just know you're gonna hate how you look.... And don't even get me started on choosing outfits!!!

My approach to sessions is casual, light-hearted, and always from a mother's perspective. I want these images to bring a smile to your face every time you see them. But even more than that, I want your children to have tangible memories, long after we are gone.
Our kids are the most photographed generation to ever live. Let's not leave them with an outdated device full of snapshots. It's my goal to provide you with more than just photos. I will guide you through the entire process, providing you with an experience from inquiry to delivery that you'll look forward to each year.

A longer session does not necessarily mean a better session. We can do a lot in a short time, and I'd much rather end it with high-fives than with tears so your kiddos (& hubby) don't dread the next time you say "picture day"!

I have a teenage son & a baby girl myself, which means that I'm gonna be approaching your session in the exact way that I want my own family photos to be created. I completely understand your anxiety and concerns. I get that there may still be some baby (or quarantine) weight that you want help to hide so you look your best, and I know that you're worried the kids may be uncooperative. But I'm going to guide you through everything. Don't worry...

Hey, I'm Erin... Welcome to my chaos! Wife to David. Mom to 18 year old Nicolas. Mama to 3 year old Sage. Business owner. Coffee addict & efficiency-junkie (for all the aforementioned reasons). And THIS is exactly why photos are so important, no matter what stage of life you're in - here's how much Sage grew in just a short time. Quick side story... Sage is a VERY happy kid, always smiling! Guess what happened on our picture day when she was 6 months? Yep - I got a total of ZERO smiles out of her from that session! I was a bit bummed at the time because her smile lights up the room, but looking back, I'm so glad I have them (extra baby weight, no smile from Sage & all)!

Frequently Asked Questions
- I schedule outdoor portrait sessions between daylight savings times - mid March - early November (with the exception of maternity sessions that have a "due date").
- Weekends are very limited due to weddings.

- During the days leading up to your session, I’ll be keeping an eye on the forecast. If it’s looking like it may be raining, snowing, or other inclement weather, I’ll be in touch the day before.
- If it's going to be under 50 degrees or over 85 degrees, I may ask to reschedule outdoor sessions (with the possible exception of maternity sessions that have a "due date"). Red noses, splotchy cheeks & teary eyes, or sweaty hot faces & clothing just aren't a good look and nearly impossible to edit out.
- Hey, it happens! I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve and can often make it work, but if they just aren't having it, then we'll just reschedule for another time that's convenient for both of us. In other words: no matter what, we are going to work together to capture your kiddos.
- I should probably note that this does not apply to grumpy husbands or kids who are old enough to behave for the session. ;)
